Winter in San Vigilio.

Winter wonderland on your doorstep: Due to its close proximity to the skiing area Kronplatz, San Vigilio is the perfect place to spend your winter holiday. A bus stop for the free bus going to the ski lifts is situated right in front of our hotel. It takes all skiers and snowboards to the well-prepared slopes of the Kronplatz area. We’ll be glad to store your ski and snowboard boots in our ski depot including ski boot warmers. The area around San Vigilio is also perfectly suited for those who love tobogganing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Close by, a beautiful 12 km long cross-country skiing trail goes to the mountain hut Pederü. Entertainment off-piste is provided by cozy alpine huts, Christmas markets and après-ski bars.

Skiing

Practice winter sports in Italy’s skiing region no. 1, the Kronplatz. 32 modern ski lifts and 119 slope kilometers guarantee an unforgettable winter experience in South Tyrol. Kronplatz is also part of the skiing carousel Dolomiti Superski which comprises over 450 lifts and 1,200 slope kilometers in the whole Dolomite area.

Cross-country skiing

Many trails for cross-country skiers start right in San Vigilio. These tracks, going past the wintery Dolomite landscapes, are perfectly suited both for classical style skiers and skaters. Two possible tracks are one at the mountain pass Würzjoch or a 6,4 km long trail near Mount Peintlerkofel.

Snowshoeing

San Vigilio and the Kronplatz area also offer numerous winter hiking trails. Those who’d like to go a more special winter hike, should rent out some snowshoes and explore the Dolomite area from a completely different angle.
